TODAY! Royal Oak OUTDOOR Pickleball Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

City of Royal Oak
Whittier Park Pickleball Complex

TODAY! MONDAY, JULY 26, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.

We will have a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Royal Oak Mayor, Recreation Superintendent, and other officials.

You are all invited to attend this celebration when our new 8 outdoor dedicated pickleball courts will be officially open to the public.

Please let your friends and neighbors know. We will demonstrate how to play pickleball for those of you new to the game. Later, you will have an opportunity to play. Paddles and balls will be available.

You will also find out some of the scheduled activities to be offered throughout the rest of the summer – free classes, ladders, drop-ins, mixers, sklill drills and fun days.

Pickleball is a fun game for all ages played on badminton-sized court with a net 34/36 inches in height. It's played with a whiffle ball and a wood or composite paddle. Easy for beginners to learn and have fun with as well as develop into a quick, fast-paced game for experienced players.
Hope to see you on the courts soon!

Whittier Park is in Royal Oak at the corner of Farnum and Potter.
If you are at 11 Mile and Main streets in downtown Royal Oak, proceed NORTH on Main ½ mile to Farnum. Turn right at the light and go down ½ mile. Whittier Park is on the right.
